Let us help you with the new DOE regulations for refrigeration products

Energy consumption is becoming an increasing concern for state and federal government agencies as a result of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.  Guidelines are becoming more stringent and will limit the allowable energy consumption of:
  • Commercial refrigerators and freezers
  • Commercial ice cream freezers
  • Vending machines
  • Ice machines
  • Walk-in refrigerators & freezers
  • Deli cases
  • Bar equipment & keg coolers
  • Under-counter & reach-in cooling units
Farrar Scientific can test for conformance to CEC, ANSI/NSF 7 requirement and ANSI/ASHRAE 117-1992 (Energy Star) testing can be done in our labs.
The Total Product Solution: If a product does not conform to YOUR requirements, Farrar Scientific offers a total product solution through our remediation process.
Developing the total product solution is accomplished by following a process to facilitate work and manage resources in accordance with YOUR specifications.
Baseline: The initial phase is a product baseline using instruments to measure product and individual component performance. When the baseline is complete, the Farrar Team will establish target performance metrics and compare them to the requirements of each standard.
Analysis: By analyzing the product and individual component performance, the Farrar Team builds a map of the system performance. All energy loads are evaluated throughout the system and opportunities for improvement are identified and quantified.
Corrective Action Plan: Based on the opportunities identified and input from the customer, the Farrar Team develops a corrective action plan for the product. The product is updated and the product baseline is performed to verify the product will meet the requirements of each standard.
Testing/Documentation: Once all performance metrics are verified, the product is tested to the
appropriate standards. A complete documentation package is prepared that details information needed by the manufacturer for submittal to the appropriate agency. Upon completion, all materials are turned over to the client representative for distribution, archiving or internal documentation.
